NewsOnAir: what you get before you install

You are about to open NewsOnAir on Google Play. It is the official app of Prasar Bharati (All India Radio, Doordarshan), carries the Government label and has more than 5 million downloads.

• Free: live Akashvani radio (230+ channels), news, podcasts and some live DD channels.
• Paid: the listing shows no in-app purchases; everything above costs nothing.
• Ads: none shown on the Google Play listing.
• Data: audio streams are light; live TV and videos use much more, so keep those for Wi-Fi.

First minute tip: open Live Radio and play Vividh Bharati or your state's Akashvani station to check that streaming works, then look at News for bulletins in your language.
