FamilySearch Tree: what you get before you install
You are about to open FamilySearch Tree on Google Play. It is published by FamilySearch International and has more than 10 million downloads.
- Free: the app and the FamilySearch account it uses. FamilySearch says it has no paid accounts or subscriptions.
- Ads and in-app purchases: none shown on the Google Play listing.
- Sign-in: you need a free FamilySearch account to build and save your tree.
- Permissions: only if you add photos or audio will your phone ask for access to them.
- Privacy: what you add about deceased people becomes public; living people in your private tree are visible only to you.
First minute tip: after signing in, add yourself and your parents, then check whether your grandparents already exist in the shared tree before creating them. It keeps your tree free of duplicates from the start.
